Our Pastor

Our Pastor: Rev. Vickie Hadaway

Western Michigan University class of 1979
Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Master of Divinity 2001

July 1, 2018

I am delighted to be back in Michigan after spending 38 years in the greater Chicagoland area, working in a variety of business settings before answering the call to ministry in 1997. Maybe you have just moved to the EUP or you’ve been away from church for a while. You will find a welcome at either of our congregations. Maybe you are looking for a church community for the first time in your life. Having personally grown up in the United Methodist Church and then taking an extended hiatus, I know how hard it can be to walk through those church doors for the first time. Please know you will find a welcome at either of our congregations!

Whatever your situation, I encourage you to come check us out. Take the time to attend for a couple weeks in a row to get a deeper sense of who we are and how following Jesus is lived out in our lives. After a few short weeks, you will know if we are the place for you. We believe it is important to find a community that will nurture your spiritual growth, connect you with a group of people who will walk through the challenges and joys of life, and provide opportunities to serve our neighbors, near and far. You will find that at Central or Algonquin United Methodist Churches.

If you wish to talk or are interested in getting involved in some other way, email me at Vickie.31.Hadaway@gmail.com. I will get back to you shortly. Thank you for checking out our website and for taking the time to read about us. Whether at one of our churches or out and about in the Sault Sainte Marie “Soo” area, I hope our paths cross in the near future.

Grace & peace,
Pastor Vickie

Our Administrative Assistant–Sherry Ingham

Sherry Ingham started at our churches in October 2020. She is married to Randy. Sherry and Randy have three adult children and nine grandchildren spread out in Michigan, Virginia and Tennessee.

They have recently moved back to Michigan from Virginia when her husband retired in August. Sherry has been the office manager at a Presbyterian Church in Blacksburg, Virginia for the last 14 years. She is familiar with life around church.

They love the water and have become avid “Boat Nerds” and feel so blessed to be in the area!

Sherry looks forward to getting to know everyone at Central & Algonquin UMC’s.
